Sounds good to me

I practically live on music, and almost all the time at home is spent listening to the world space asia star broadcast channels even when I am at other important job. Unfortunately, technical aspects of music are something that I am very poor at (I tried playing an instrument once, but the attempt was a total disaster - and I successfully managed to shift the blame to the teacher who had to move on because of a new job). It would be very difficult task for me to write down everything I like, but I'll try and do a quick short job.

I listen to anything that sounds good, but I have a particular (and strong) liking for good instrumentals. In Indian classical music, I seem to like Carnatic more than Hindustani (though I don't understand what either of them is all about). Kenny G with his Sax, Joe Satriani with his Guitars, Ustad Zakir Hussain with the Tabla, Pt. Hairprasad Chaurasia with his flute, U Shrinivas with the Mandolin are all amazing, and I like Yanni's compositions for their grandeur. Among the many bands that I listen to, I like Deep Purple, Metallica, Nirvana and Pink Floyd.

Some of my favorite Indian singers happen to be Yesudas, Chitra, Janaki, Asha Bhosle, Udit Narayan and Sukhwinder Singh. Gulzar and Sirivennela Seetharamaiah Sastry notch up some great lyrics in Hindi and Telugu respectively. Get one or more of these people to work with a genius music composer called Ilayaraja, and you'll be treating yourself to a wonderful experience. It is however, very sad that the quality of Hindi and Telugu music has detiorated enough to force me to listen to less of the new stuff that is dished out these days.
