My first camera was a Canon Prima DX II that was gifted to me and I used that for quite some time (well, till my sister decided that she wanted it) Canon's site doesn't list that camera anymore, but the came is very good for basic purposes. And then during Alcheringa 2000 (The annual cultural festival of IITG), I participated in a photography competition called KiranAnkan (meaning, painting with rays of light); I used Sreedhar's (slightly better than mine) point-and-click Canon and shot Alcheringa. That was where I won the Pentax PC-55 that I used for a few years before I went the SLR way.
