Learning cooking wasn't all that easy, believe me, but it was nice. I would even have to switch off the stove in the middle of an experiment and run to the nearest phone booth to call up home and find out the next step forward.
I did not try to learn from the millions of recipe books out there. The gut feeling that "this dish usually tastes and smells like this and hence, it should be done this way", works well, and is in my opinion, the best way to go about it. Obviously, many of my attempts did end-up in the trash bin during the initial stages. But now, even though I take some time to make stuff, I am pretty decent. Come over, be a gineau^H^H^H^H^Huest :-P.
